The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) forms a group that will draft the implementing rules and regulations covering election campaign motorcades along major thoroughfares in Metro Manila.
MMDA Chair Francis Tolentino says that, aside from main roads like EDSA, C-5 and Commonwealth Avenue, certain secondary roads should also be covered by the resolution issued by the Commission on Elections.
The Comelec resolution aims to prevent traffic congestion caused by campaign activities of candidates or political groups for the upcoming midterm election in May.
