UP Diliman adopts August-July academic shift

The University of the Philippines (UP) Board of Regents approved on Friday the shift in the academic calendar for its Diliman campus.

This announcement means that all UP campuses will now start the upcoming school year in August and will end on July next year.

Last month, the Board of Regents has already agreed to adopt the new calendar for its campuses in Manila, Los Baños, Baguio, Visayas, Mindanao, and Cebu.

UP President Alfredo Pascual says the shift is for the continuous development of the university into a regional and global university – as well as to maximize opportunities offered by the ASEAN integration.
