Binay OKs calamity loans to PagIBIG members

Vice President Jejomar Binay, who is concurrently Chairman of the PagIBIG housing program, says members affected by Typhoon Labuyo may apply for calamity loans to help ease their return to normal lives.

Binay says that PagIBIG members living in areas placed in a state of calamity are entitled to a calamity loan equivalent to 80 percent of their savings in the fund.

The members will simply have to submit their loan application and present two valid IDs at any PagIBIG branch.

PagIBIG President Darlene Berberabe says applications will be accepted for up to 90 days from the time the area was declared under a state of calamity, and that the agency has set up mobile offices in other typhoon-stricken areas to accommodate the processing of applications.
